Sustainability and top-quality performance are in our DNA. In 2020, we received an environmental management system certificate ISO 14001:2015 and a quality management system certificate ISO 9001:2015.

The Solar Water Solutions water purification units operate with purely renewable energy,
without batteries, fossil fuels, or energy storage. They help our customers to achieve their
goals in eco-efficiency and sustainability with renewable and safe water treatment. Our aim
is to ultimately replace all polluting diesel generators with solar power in off-grid desalination.
We also reduce the environmental impact of transportation by producing water locally.

How the ISO process was conducted

Solar Water Solutions processes were audited by SGS, the world’s leading inspection,
verification, testing, and certification company. SGS is recognized as the global benchmark
for quality and integrity.
The SolarRO product family is designed using state-of-the-art technology in its
manufacturing and test processes. The quality control process is organized according to ISO
9001:2015 certification.

The water produced by SolarRO systems is tested in laboratories that have a T058
accreditation by FINAS, the Finnish Accreditation Service according to the standard SFS-EN
ISO 17025. The laboratory’s analytical methods are the most widely approved by the Finnish
Food Safety Authority.

Based on ISO 14001:2015, Solar Water Solutions pursues sustainability through innovative
eco-friendly technology and responsible business operations.


Checking out Finnish-made pilot desalination plant in Henties Bay. @SolarWaterSolut, @UniTurku and @unam_na worked together to bring this solar-powered plant to the coastal campus. The plant has the capacity to desalinate about 30 000 litres of ocean water per day.
