Water woes will be over on remote Marinduque Island
Solar Water Solutions' desalination technology will be used in an upcoming 29,200 m3/day project in the province of Marinduque, Philippines.The Marinduque Water District has launched a project to convert sea or raw water into 29,200 m3 worth of potable fresh water for the whole province of Marinduque.
The project aims to supply 240,000 inhabitants of Marinduque with an uninterruptible supply of potable water using Finnish desalination technology running on solar power.
The awarding ceremony was held on 10 March 2023 at the Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas Ortigas.
The awarding ceremony conferred the award to Peak Off-Grid Innovations & Solutions Inc., a renewable energy and water desalination developer, and was attended by Marinduque Governor Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr. Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco and the Finnish Ambassador to the Philippines Juha Markus Pyykkö.
“I am pleased that this unique Finnish technology is offering solutions to the challenges of the people of Marinduque. Finland’s water expertise is world-class”, said Ambassador Pyykkö.
